LONDON FASHION WEEK → Christopher Kane

21 st September 2010

Christopher Kane is someone who uses bright colours always and he must have looked through old collections and thought “let me bring back neon”

it was guaranteed to be a blinding show, as the lights bounced off the first fluoro green punched leather jacket, . The delicate laser-cut holes created a lace look, which was a taste of things to come. Kane paired skirts of green and orange with argyll knit jumpers and twinsets – a nod to his ongoing support of the Scottish wool industry.

A group of highlighter-shade lace and pleated tea dresses followed, which you could imagine on every young starlet on a premiere junket. Then he changed it again by adding in a dragon print element. t, but as the theme continued, dragons emerged both printed and embroidered into lace.

As ever with Christopher Kane, his swing into brights will take a while to settle. While some people declared it his best season, others were unsure. They will, of course, grow to love it, as Christopher Kane always gets us in the end. Expect to be wearing neon by January. Hmm, does that mean that it will be the return of fake tans too?
