twitterfacebookrss MOVIES →IMMORTALS RELEASE DATE 11/11/11

20 th January 2011

There is only one movie I am really looking to watch this year and it is called Immortals. I have followed this movie from before it began filming up until now and really cannot wait!

Immortals, the new film from The Fall director Tarsem Singh, has set its release date as the easy-to-remember November 11th, 2011 (11/11/11).  The Greek mythology action flick stars Henry Cavill as Theseus, who, with the help of the gods, must lead his men in battle against the Titans.  The film also stars Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Stephen Dorff, John Hurt, and Mickey Rourke.

Immortals, which is being released in 3D, will share the weekend  with Adam Sandler’s comedy film “Jack and Jill”

Universal has also released an official plot synopsis for the film:

On 11/11/11, witness the 3-D epic battle as mere men become Immortals. Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king’s hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion…until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope.

Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes. Rallying a band of fellow outsiders–including visionary priestess Phaedra (Freida Pinto) and cunning slave Stavros (Stephen Dorff) — one hero will lead the uprising, or watch his homeland fall into ruin and his Gods vanish into legend.

I will keep you posted of any more news on this movie, but be sure Tarsem has made an incredible movie – this guy is a genius!

twitterfacebookrss FASHION→ Valentino: The Last Emperor

5 th July 2010

Valentino

For all those true fashion admirers, Valentino is known as an emperor of fashion. Always getting the key look for every season in which every celebrity wants to be seen in.

Valentino: The Last Emperor is a waspishly entertaining fly-on-the-wall glimpse behind the scenes that shows how the great Italian couturier designs his gowns, often rides roughshod over his employees, throws tantrums and gets into bitchy squabbles with his long-time professional and personal partner, Giancarlo Giammetti.

It culminates in a lavish tribute to his career in Rome, a celebration, as someone says, ’worthy of the Sun King.’ When you see the style in which Valentino and Giammetti live, the comment doesn’t seem exaggerated.

The film was directed by Vanity Fair journalist Matt Tyrnauer, who offers a largely sympathetic portrait of these two men, though not to the extent of shutting off his cameras when they go into hissy-fit mode – which is often.

Still, the film seems a fitting climax to a remarkable career. “I felt very excited about a documentary of my life being made,” Valentino told me. He was even relaxed about the sequences that showed him being short-tempered: “There were moments of anger, but I was completely myself from beginning to end. That’s how I am. I wanted to show who I am, because I couldn’t care less.”

Enjoy!!!

twitterfacebookrss MOVIES → Sophomore: The Movie

12 th January 2010

Spring means sun, fun, and apparently, booze on the boardwalk, which is just where Chrissie Miller and frequent collaborator Cass Bird headed to shoot the new video “trailer” for Sophomore’s Spring 2010 collection. A group of Miller’s favored roustabouts—no star appearances from Harley Viera-Newton or Jen Brill this time, though Virgins front man Donald Cummings does make a profanity-laced cameo—kicks it on the boardwalk and discusses the finer points of the good life. A word to the wise: It’s NSFW, if your W frowns on four-letter words issuing from your cubicle. Safe to assume we’ll hear more of the same at the party celebrating its release later this month.
