27 th October 2010

I am a huge fan of Chanel and this has come just in time for Christmas!!

Bleu De Chanel (£60-£80). This new mens fragrance features a blend of citrus and woodsy scents that’s perfect for fall — which means that yes, it’s time to shelve those ocean + flower scents until next spring.

John Varvatos 10th Anniversary Fragrance

10 years. Right now, the only thing you’ve been interested in for 10 years that isn’t blood related is your dog and you can’t have an anniversary with your dog – at least not in this country.

It should come as no surprise then that 10 years of anything is kind of a big deal to a man – even if that man is renowned menswear designer John Varvatos. To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Varvatos, they released this new fragrance that apparently has “refreshing citrus essences of bergamot and Chinotto orange” and “the uniqueness of Ceylonese cinnamon”. We’re not going to pretend to have any idea what that means. What we can tell you is that we’ve used Varvatos fragrance before and it does exactly what it’s supposed to. Use your imagination. £75

twitterfacebookrss LUXURY COLOGNE → Maison Martin Margiela launches its first fragrance

13 th January 2010

Untitled by Maison Martin Margiela

Quirky fashion brand Maison Martin Margiela is releasing its first scent. The blandly-named Untitled is a unisex scent created by perfumer Daniela Andrier from Givaudan who has created scents for Gucci and Prada. Untitled is described as being a green scent with incense-like amber notes. The simple bottle, designed in collaboration with Fabien Baron, was inspired by 19th century glass stoppered bottles and reinforces the idea that the scent is made to be worn by anyone. Untitled will be available from Colette starting on January 25 and then will be rolled out internationally over the next few months. For coverage of the recent unveiling of the scent check out this comprehensive piece on StyleBubble.

Creed of Paris, supplier of bespoke fragrances to royalty and aristocracy since 1760, has released a limited edition bottling of a cologne originally created for the Duke of Windsor in 1936 during his brief reign as King Edward VIII before he abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson.

Only 320 bottles of the kingly cologne, presented in a shatterproof 1.7 oz. leather-wrapped flask numbered and signed by sixth-generation master perfumer Olivier Creed, will be available in the U.S. for $400 apiece. It’s made exclusively from ingredients grown in what was once the British Empire.

The subtle, elegant top notes of Creed Windsor are British gin, Jamaican lime and a touch of Scottish highland pine; the middle note the variety of roses now known as the “Duke of Windsor”; and the bottom notes Bahamian orange, Canadian cedar and a dab of Australian
